Dingle

The owls were on CSN the other day. I was shocked to see Dingle, he looked real fit. He must have lost 30 lbs. Has anyone heard anything about his offseason or what the team expects from him this year? He looks fit enough to play on the perimeter. I was concerned about his weight last year, he seemed totally out of shape. If he can play on the outside that would allow dunphy to put him on the floor with obi and bond (who I think are our best front court players). Anyhow wondering if anyone heard something

Stadium/facilities updates

So there are two meetings tomorrow - a Facilities meeting in the morning and a Board of Trustees meeting in the afternoon. Two sources I spoke with today both said they do not anticipate talk of the football stadium being on either agenda.

However, that does not mean that the possibility of a football stadium at Temple is dead. Far from it. Too many people have told me that potential donors have been shown renderings, and I believe at least one of you has posted as much on the message boards here. Talks are most certainly progressing.

What I have been told is that you'll most likely hear word of an announcement on the field hockey/lacrosse fields at the William Penn property before you'll hear an announcement on the stadium. While it's possible that discussion of those fields could be on the agenda for tomorrow's meetings, I can't say for sure. But again, sources I trust are telling me that word of those fields will most likely come before a stadium announcement.

September 5th, 2015....

This past weekend my wife says; "We are going to wedding September 5th at 3pm."

FML.

Already bought tickets section 125. Told her I've been planning this weekend for over a year now. She doesn't seem to give a shit and brings it up everyday how I'm a terrible person to make her go to her friends wedding alone. I have a feeling this isn't going to have a favorable outcome. I'm literally losing sleep over this.

If I get #ucked into this wedding I told her that I hope she knows I'll either be watching on my phone, or will find the nearest reception TV. Either way, she will be dancing alone all night...

TU Players in The Basketball Tournament

The Basketball Tournament is back this year, so I put together a list of all the Temple players participating. The games for the Northeast regionals are this weekend at Philly U. While you can buy tickets through TBT directly, I recommend doing so through GroupOn. It's a good deal - 1 for $14, 2 for $24.

Here are the Temple guys:

David Hawkins is playing for Team City of Gods. They play Friday at 1:45PM.

Dionte Christmas, Mardy Collins, and Mark Tyndale are playing for TYGTAL. They play Friday at 7PM. If they win, they will be playing 20th and Olney, a reunion team of La Salle guys, most of which are from the 2012 team.

Jake O'Brien is playing for Big Apple Basketball. They play Saturday at 4:00PM.

Ryan Brooks is playing for Liberty Ballers. They play Saturday at 9:00AM.

Dalton Pepper, Jacob Godino, Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson, Khalif Wyatt, Ramone Moore, and TJ DiLeo are playing for North Broad Street Bullies. They play Saturday at 5:45PM.

Every team that I mentioned is hyperlinked to their team page. Here is the link to the entire bracket: http://bracket.thetournament.com/#/

For those on Twitter, I just posted all of this on the Cherry Crusade page, so you can follow us there for more information over the next few days.

Daron Russell

Good story on our latest offer. He sure seems to have an ideal mindset for Temple.

It was interesting that solely in terms of build he is different from most TU players of recent years. Not tall yet exceptionally quick. Now, this is not some invidious comparison of tall versus shorter. Rather it suggests our coaches are looking at all types, which seems smart, considering some very good and fast shorter guards who troubled us in the AAC and not long ago the A-10.

GO Owls

Offensive Line

A first-rate story about everything required for a newcomer to play offensive line in college can be googled by typing:

"freshman starters on O-line face steep learning curve"

I cannot link as the story is in the Gainesville paper which is subscription, however, it allows each individual five free reads.

GO Owls, beat the Nits!
