Part III of Adam Fisher's interview with OwlScoop.com

More good stuff here, including how Fisher plans to approach recruiting the 2024 and '25 classes, why he feels Temple is behind in NIL and where he thinks they can be, and how he hosted 33 former Owls on a recent Zoom call and his plans for building alumni engagement.

Mailbag questions for The Scoop

Things are starting to heat up with recruiting, and preseason camp is less than two months away. Let us know what's on your mind and drop in a mailbag question here by noon tomorrow for this week's podcast.

Although this episode will include a portion of our interview with Adam Fisher, we'll still talk plenty of football as well.

Thank you all so much for listening. We greatly appreciate it!

Goodwin was Temple running back Joquez Smith's teammate last year and caught 27 balls for 513 yards and five touchdowns. He chose Temple over offers from Toledo, Bowling Green and Middle Tennessee State.

And yes, just to be clear, he has yet to be ranked by Rivals.

The Scoop with Adam Fisher

Good morning, everyone.

This week's podcast includes the first part of my conversation with Adam Fisher, and you can listen to it here.

Parts II and III will only be available to you all as subscribers, so there's a lot more good stuff to come, including insight into the current roster and how Fisher plans to fill out the rest of his staff.

Denzel Chavis recaps Temple visit, locks in commitment date

I had the chance to speak with Denzel Chavis last night to recap his official visit. Chavis, who has only taken an official visit to Temple, announced a commitment date of June 17 after returning from his visit. I think it's fair to say that Temple is the favorite to receive his commitment.

The Phillies are making their 1st significant addition to ownership in years. Notice where he graduated from..

Would think he would be an ideal candidate to be our "big NIL champion". Obviously is interested in sports..

Staff updates

Dug into this a little bit and it appears that former Penn State/Drexel guard Cam Wynter will be following Adam Fisher from Penn State to Temple... as a staff member. Wynter is set to join the Owls in an off-the-bench role, possibly in the role that Mark Macon filled last year. Wynter played four years at Drexel, where he scored nearly 1,700 points, before transferring to Penn State last year as a grad transfer. in Wynter's last collegiate appearance, he dropped 16 points against Texas in the NCAA Tournament.

Also, as has been rumored on this site for quite some time, Kentucky assistant video coordinator Andrew Ortelli officially joined Fisher's staff as Video Coordinator today.

In case you missed it, Temple added two commits to its 2023 class last night when Ihsim Smith-Marsette and Kian Johnson committed to the Owls

Smith-Marsette is the younger brother of Kansas City Chief Ihmir Smith-Marsette. He figures to be a safety at Temple but did a bit of everything for Weequahic last year. The 5-foot-10 Smith-Marsette finished the season with three picks, six receiving touchdowns and a punt return TD en route to an All-Group selection.

Sims had 29 catches for 319 yards and five touchdowns last season and also returned 12 kickoffs for 285 yards.

Despite having graduated high school in 2019, Sims, who chose Temple over Tennessee Tech, could have as many as three years of eligibility left due to redshirting, the COVID year and missing a season.

Temple slated to host official visitors

Just confirmed with Largo (FL) athlete Chase Green that he'll be on campus this weekend for an official visit.

Last season, Green played both ways for Largo and finished with 68 tackles, four interceptions and a sack on defense while also racking up 333 rushing yards, 302 receiving yards and three touchdowns on offense. Temple likes Green as a defensive back and he's also garnered offers from schools like Illinois, Tulane, South Florida and Liberty. He's also scheduled to visit Illinois later this month.
