Villanova Game - Keys to be in position to win game

1. Guard the three point line. Never give up the entire shot clock

2. Stop dribble penetration because this is how they get to foul line and kick out to waiting three point players .

3. Penetrate into the lane when they run you off the three point line and shoot your foul shots

4 Villanova goes on scoring runs almost every half . Must minimize those runs .

5.You need to run a bit and get some fast break points. Villanova tough to score in half court the entire game

Mailbag questions for The Scoop

We're taking mailbag questions for this week's podcast until 4 p.m. today.

Despite two ejections, allowing a 22-0 run that erased a 20-point lead at Tulsa and not getting a field goal in the last five minutes, Temple won at Tulsa two nights ago to improve to 10-8 overall and 4-1 in The American. Now a Memphis team that's 12-5 overall (but 1-4 on the road and 2-2 in conference play) comes to town Sunday for a 3 p.m. tip-off.

We'll talk about all of that and anything else you'd like to put on the agenda with you mailbag questions.

Florida transfer Kamar Wilcoxson has big plans for Temple

@Javon Edmonds talked to the former 4-star recruit this weekend about why he chose Temple out of the transfer portal. Wilcoxson wasn't shy about setting the bar high this season.

“The best thing I can say,” Wilcoxson said, “is watch me work and watch me earn a single-digit number.”

Temple turns its attention to Tulane

I talked to Aaron McKie, Damian Dunn and Nick Jourdain after yesterday's practice. Aaron gave me an update on Jamille Reynolds, Dame talked about the the birth of his son Nolan and what's clicking for the team, and Nick talked about finding his role as a small-ball five in the starting lineup.

JUCO kicker visits

College of San Mateo kicker Gabriel Plascencia was in on an official visit to Temple earlier this week, OwlScoop.com has learned.

Plascencia originally signed with Mississippi State last spring as a scholarship kicker but transferred back to San Mateo for a second JUCO season.

Over two years at San Mateo, Plascencia went 26-of-39 field goals, including a 51-yarder, and 117-of-118 extra points. I think Temple is particularly interested in his kickoff ability. While I haven't been able to find stats, his highlight reel shows a big leg on kickoffs.

Plascencia, who has also received offers from schools like Kentucky, San Diego State and San Jose State will have three years to play two seasons at his next college.
