Murfreesboro, TN - Temple took a 20-point lead at halftime, coughed up 15 points of that advantage in about four minutes after the break, then settled in to top Middle Tennessee and earn a spot in the WNIT semifinals. The Owls will play at West Virginia on Wednesday; tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Temple (20-16) led 35-15 at halftime, as the Blue Raiders looked overmatched - they were 3-of-30 from the field at one point (1-of-12 from long range). But Middle Tennessee stormed back in the second half and even cut the edge to six points, 55-49, after a 3-pointer by Olivia Jones.

The Owls held on, led by Tyonna Williams and her 23 points, six rebounds and five assists. Feyonda Fitzgerald had 15 points and four steals; Temple did have 22 turnovers, but it was 21-of-24 from the free-throw line.

The Blue Raiders (24-10) got 24 points from Jones; Brea Edwards set a school postseason record with her 20 rebounds, and Ty Petty scored 10 points as Middle Tennessee ended up shooting 27 percent from the field.

Wow, the Daily News reported that former Temple Running back Matt Brown has been arrested for trafficking 3 teenage girls; all under the age of 15. If true, he needs to be flogged and pimped out to Bubba in a jail cell !!!! As a middle school education, these types of allegations sicken me !!!!!!!

Chestnut Hill Academy offensive tackle Darian Bryant was at Temple's practice Tuesday. Forgot to include that in my notes. Sorry about that. Rivals lists him at 6-6, 325 pounds and he looks every bit of it.

Bryant is a 3-star class of 2016 recruit and ranked by Rivals as the No. 26 overall player in the state.

I was forced ed to watch last nights game on TV. In the second half, when Bond was in foul trouble, the TV panned to the Temple bench a number of times and every time Bond was enthusiastically cheering on his teammates. It is very clear he is a team player and this will help next year when we are looking for leadership.

Went down in a heap in tonight's game. He did walk off, unlike poor Speedy Smith.

Because of the opportunity afforded by the NIT, guys like Dingle, Coleman and others are getting a chance to shine.
