I loved his 34-yard catch and run in the second quarter that put Temple at the Memphis 17 and led to Romond Deloatch's TD to make it 7-6 Owls.

Wish they would throw those kinds of passes to him more often. That was a great call.

All the TEs played well. Patton had the TD run, Major blocked well and scored a TD. Great effort.

Great interview by the senior TE. He's been paying his own tuition and will graduate with a degree in economics.

He had a key block Saturday on Kip Patton's TD at the start of the fourth quarter that made it 21-12 Temple, and he caught the 19-yard TD that made it 31-12 with 3 minutes left in the game.

It's a real feel-good story to me. Senior year, been paying his dues doing the grunt work, and he gets a TD in a key game. Great stuff.

Is Temple going to be able to put huge runs on decent or better opponents and blow games open? Villanova has had runs of 22-0, 13-0, and 34-2 in their last TWO GAMES. I don't see it from Temple and without the offensive firepower, games are either going to be close lower scoring affairs, or losses where they can't score for long periods. Also, they seem ill-equipped to take advantage of the new fouling rules. Quick point guards who drive to the basket, and big physical inside players will benefit. Temple really has neither, and our physical inside player is a career 35% foul shooter. Couple that with the lack of depth, and the new rules would seem to inhibit any chance that this team had to be good. We also seem to have a very hard time defending without fouling.

Wow. The board is dead leading up the biggest game of the year. Did even our loyal fans deflate with the Owls against USF? Where is the juice? Go Owls!

Saw the big kid wearing No. 83 on the sideline today. Is it just a fluke with numbers, or is he going to be a TE now?

Let's hope the Bearcats knock off the S. Fla. Bulls so that we can all exhale. Does a Cincy victory mean we will play better, because the pressure is off, or worse, because we have clinched the East?

Why not give Watson or Ernest some run? At least they have size and their feet actually come off the ground when they "jump"...

This is a very important game, as it is a rare opportunity against a Top 25 team that we can match up with physically. They have one good low post scorer and Bond can guard him. We should help Bond some, but doubling off of their shooters can be deadly. Bond has to play 35 minutes or more for us to win, so we can't let him get in early foul trouble. Our perimeter defense has been o.k., but Dunham, Lewis and Jones will provide a huge test.
With Miami and Utah and their All-League centers on the other side of the bracket, IMO today is our best chance to get a badly needed 2nd win in this tournament. I think Miami is Sweet 16 good or better, and Utah has a huge and skilled front line.

5. TEMPLE HAS A LOT OF PLAYERS CAPABLE OF SCORING 15 OR MORE [ DECOSEY , COLEMAN , OBI , LOWE AND EVEN BOND AND I AM SURE ALSTON WILL FIT INTO THAT CATEGORY SOON . THIS MEANS TEMPLE HAS TO HOPE THAT TWO OR THREE ARE ON ANY GIVEN GAME . I THINK THAT WILL HAPPEN MORE TIMES THAN NOT .

6. PLAYING GOOD PERIMETER DEFENSE BUT INSIDE NOT SO GOOD . HOPE THET CAN CLEAN IT UP

7. DINGLE LOOKS LIKE SAME PLAYER . CAN'T SHOOT FROM OUTSIDE WHICH MAKES HIM QUESTIONABLE AS A PERIMETER PLAYER AND THEN TOO SMALL FOR PF UNDERNEATH .

We're less than 24 hours before tip-off against Minnesota. Any idea what his status is for the game? We desperately need to take at least two games in this Tournament.

I am coming up from FL for the game Saturday. Where are the tailgate lots ? alumni tailgates ?, others ? and what time do they open ?

Anyone else notice that 2016 football invoice has been posted to their season ticket holder account? Cost per game in Section 121 is $18 per seat compared to $33 per seat this year. Seven home games next year.

It's awfully quiet on the night before the 2nd game of the season. Unfortunately I'm going to be in a business meeting and won't be able to watch.

What are the expectations for tomorrow?

Out hit them and punch them in the face . They seem like a team that doesn't want to get into a brawl . Like ND , we need to tackle everything moving and make them score field goals rather than TD's . I think we can hold them to 28 or less . The way we played defense and specifically our tackling over the last two games will just not get it against Memphis . They can score 50 or more on us if we don't play tough Temple football .

Then you have running the football because you want to run the clock and keep them off the field and create good quality passing lanes for PJ by holding the linebackers because of the run .. We need some long pass plays against a mediocre defense .

Need at least two great special teams play , blocked kick and a long punt return

Memphis still ranked 21st. Interesting, I guess we have another chance to knock of another ranked team.

The old adage is "90% preparation, 10% perspiration." I think Temple may have it backwards based on some of the players past comments. Perhaps JDC can follow up at the press conference.

All season we've heard some players say, "We can't worry about our opponents. We're only concerned about ourselves." Is this a simple player motto like "what's next?" Or is it an actual coaching strategy. Improving "our game" is important in spring and summer camp, but I wonder if this is the best mindset during the season. At this stage of the season, should the Owls be focusing on their opponents and develop solid game day strategies?

They beat Penn State out of the gate and limped to the finish against Cincy. They barely beat a truly crappy UMass team and struggled against dogs like SMU and UCF. Does Rhule and his staff prepare properly for their opponents? Is he a good "game day coach?"

This would be a great question at the press conference this week. Is Temple fully focused on Memphis this week or are they "worrying about themselves?" How do you prepare for Paxton Lynch and a potent passing attack? How do they attack the Memphis defense?

Each opponent has different strengths, weaknesses, and threats. It doesn't sound right to "worry about yourself" Is the new "Rhule: 10% preparation and 90% perspiration? "

The beat-down at the hands of USF is a wake up call, and game day strategy likely needs more attention.

Golden Hurricane over Shockers. One of a few reasons they were picked ahead of TUBB in preseason rankings. Haith has made that program legitimate.

I hope we get a great crowd for the Memphis game this Saturday, and that those fair weather fans were not turned off to Temple football by the loss last night. If anything, the Memphis becomes even more important. Go Owls!

I was at the UNC Temple game but I'm sure like a great deal of you who attended the game I was stuck outside waiting to get in for the entire first half. I was wondering if someone who watched the entire game could give me an update on how each of the three freshman played. Should we expect solid things from them this season?
