Needs to be said...

There goes the reason for hiring an experienced coach instead of an "up and comer" coordinator ... because "we don't have to watch him learn on the job".

Special Teams stink because he wanted "his guy". (instead of the best guy)
Both offense and defense were unprepared for the opponent.
So insecure about the offense that he's handing the ball off to a linebacker. (yuck)
It was a MAC team! (even though not from the familiar, and weak, West Division)

Good game but lots to work on especially on offense

we have a winnable game at ECU but again if Temple doesn’t come to play then it can easily be an L . Remember Buffalo ? Then comes Temples gauntlet for the season with games against Memphis , SMU and UCF right in a row .

I am really down on the passing attack . The QB had to be more accurate and not throw into double and triple teams . The passing scheme has to include the tight end and running backs enough to keep the defenses honest . Temple has to run to throw and be dedicated to run the football. If you can keep the ball enough to win the time of possession then you are really helping an already good defense .

It is now show time . Fifth game of the year coming up . No excuses

Carey and the Media After the Game

While Temple clearly did not play well yesterday, Carey keeping the players from talking to the media after the game seems to be the biggest non-game story. There are media tweets calling Carey out and it was in the headlines of one of the stories on the front of Owlscoop.

Is this something Carey did at NIU? Did the prior coaches at Temple do this at all (or regularly)? Are college players required to talk to the media? I know the leagues can fine the pros for skipping out (and know college kids aren’t getting fined but not sure if the league would reprimand Temple or something)....
