In case you missed it, Temple is going to run a regional Super Bowl ad on Sunday. The university is asking people to vote on which ad will play. They're both similar but the difference is between whether or not Stella or a Philadelphia skyline is the ending shot.

Saw Dunphy today at the Roman/StJoes Prep game today checking out Tone Carr. Roman won by double digits. Carr struggled in the second half after having a very solid 1st. Think he finished with 13pts.

Three of the city's top football recruits are scheduled to visit Penn State this weekend.
Prep Charter defensive end Karamo Dioubate and Imhotep Charter tight end Naseir Upshur, both juniors, will be joined by St. Joseph Prep sophomore running back D'Andre Swift.
Dioubate and Upshur are four-star recruits. Swift is likely to be rated as a four-star recruit when Rivals releases its Class of 2016 rankings. All three have scholarship offers from Penn State.
Dioubate holds offers from Boston College, Michigan State, Temple, and others. Upshur holds offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Florida State, Miami, Temple, and others. Swift holds offers from Alabama, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Temple, and others.

Not a huge thing but if you haven't seen it yet NFL.com has the a top ten non-Power Five candidates for 2016 Senior Bowl and Kyle Friend is one of those ten. Here is what it says:

The buzz: Friend (6-2, 305) has started from the moment he stepped foot on campus. He was a high school wrestler in Pennsylvania and understands leverage, and he does a nice job getting his hands on opposing defensive linemen. It helps that he is as strong as an ox: He did 40 reps at 225 pounds on the bench press during summer workouts. Friend also has been clocked at 4.95 seconds in the 40. He played every offensive snap for the Owls in 2013. He also has started at guard during his career.


Always nice to see the guys who deserve it get some recognition.

Don't know if the 6-6, 270-pound JUCO DL can play, but it looks like he also got a RS year and has two seasons of eligibility remaining. He played against Vandy then never saw the field again last season.

The DL depth is growing.

Josiah Bronson is announcing on Twitter that he has committed to Temple.

Per a source familiar with his recruitment, he called the coaches yesterday to commit.

B Knight's comments about the AAC were great to hear! This league has some good teams. Cinn.is one of them.

Given are almost complete lack of an offensive inside game is there any disappointment in his game as a top one hundred recruit?

Does anyone care to talk about tonight's game? Jaylen Bond really won us the 1st game, as our backcourt was outplayed by theirs. It is often difficult for aggressive players on the road, ad little calls tend to go against them. Assuming the front courts are close to a push, I believe this game will come down to the backcourts. Can Cummings, Morgan, DeCosey, Brown and Coleman significantly out play Taylor, Henriquez, Goodwin and Walker? We have much more experience and if our guards can't out play theirs, we really don't deserve NCAA consideration.

I am a season ticket holder for many years and an "OWL" fan since the mid 70's..I do not post much but enjoy reading the message boards, just a question, any good reason why not to offer this point guard from MLK? I have seen him play a few times. He has many ups with a few downs but a proven winner..and tough as nails! Seems to me to fit that "old school" Temple guard...just a thought..

Looks like a major winter storm is bearing down on the region. Undoubtedly this will wreak havoc on air travel.

Does anyone know when the team is planning to head to Orlando? If they don't make it out tomorrow, they might have to take a same-day flight on Weds.

T.J. Simmons, a four-star running back from Florida, decommitted from UCLA today. At the same time, Simmons tweeted that he's considering Marshall, Temple and West Virginia.

Simmons would be a big, big get for Temple, obviously. A source we spoke to said that the issues that prevented Simmons from enrolling at UCLA would not prevent him from coming to Temple.

Class of 2016 point guard Anthony Cowan committed to Maryland today, and that's a good thing because the Terps had been recruiting Roman Catholic point guard Tone Carr, Temple's top junior point guard target.

With Cowan going there, it's likely one less program Temple has to worry about with Carr's recruitment.
