Alums For Athletics Outreach

Might as well start a thread on a coordinated effort to influence and hold accountable the BOT, President, and AD in making sure athletics is a priority.

Top 3 Goals?
- Get into a power conference - preferably ACC. I imagine this is priority #1.
- Temple execs and BOT must all buy-in on NIL and be very active getting alums and local businesses to donate to NIL.
- On Campus Stadium

I imagine everyone is aligned on those goals. So how do you hold accountable and influence the BOT, President, and AD in a very effective manner? How have other schools alums do it? I honestly don't know - can anyone give examples (within reason - we are not psu - but maybe what ucf, cincinatti, etc did?) I'm not aware of any schools where alums led a movement like this - most schools that were accepted into a power conference had great leadership from the President and AD.

Fire away on how to do this effectively. Most - if not all here - would want to help.

Drayton post game interview

“They were physically stronger than us,” third-year Temple head coach Stan Drayton said during a postgame Zoom call with reporters. “They played better than us. It’s one thing when you're playing against a team that is bigger than you, stronger than you, but they played better. They executed better than we did as well. So, yeah, that was the case, that we definitely lost the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Wasn't even close.”
This admission is pathetic. No reason we can't be physically stronger; that's on the HC and strength coach. Later he said that Tulane had definitely "invested in some players." This is just another excuse for his incompetence.

Deborah Heart & Lung Center Jersey Jam...

...featuring Temple v Monmouth and Duquesne v Princeton from the Cure Insurance Arena in Trenton.

I, for one, am fired up! Owls getting some early love with the books today, saw the line move from -2.5 to -4 now.

Monmouth is led by 6'7" guard, Abdi Bashir, who had 20 points on 22 shots in a 24 point loss to Michigan State earlier this week.

Lets GO Owls...and never forget, "What Trenton Makes...The World Takes".

Villanova schooled at home...

...by an Ivy squad.

Watched the final 12 minutes last night and was both underwhelmed by Villanova's roster and impressed with Columbia's coaching and the team's resolve down the stretch. Looks like it will be another year of discontent for Cats' fans and a warming seat for Neptune. Also, anyone else notice that pre-season #1, AAC squad, UAB got beaten at home by Vermont the other night? Going to be a crazy year.

Mashburn is the real deal

Nice start for Jamal Mashburn, Jr. in the Cherry & White. Twenty Six points, but better yet his court sense seems very steady.
I know it is only game one, and Sacred Heart is not a top 100 program, but I liked what I saw this game.

Plus these Owls hit free throws when it counted down the stretch. Overall a good win to start the season.

GO OWLS!

Temple announces Lynn Greer III, Chris Clark suspensions

Lynn Greer III and Chris Clark would both return prior to the Dec. 15 game at Hofstra.

When I spoke with Jamal Mashburn Jr. earlier this week, he noted early on that he would be playing more point guard.
