Over the next few days, you'll likely read/hear about our field hockey team's game versus top 25 ranked Maine at Kent State if you haven't already.

Our game was tied after one OT. Kent State administrators told the two teams they could not play the 2nd OT a few mintues after 10:30am so they could set up the fireworks display for their noon kickoff with Kennesaw State at the adjacent football stadium.

The game is officially considered a scrimmage and doesn't count for either team's record. Nationally, it's already being picked up by media.

The Golden Flashes outlasted the Owls in OT....

I said that wasn't his name but he adopted it as he did Temple, which he did not attend, when our football program was woebegone. That he remained a faithful tailgater and fan over the years. The shirts, I explained, were worn during a celebration of NJS after he left us.

"We need more people like that," the man said.

See article below. AAC as a conference is ranked T6 with MWC and Temple is ranked 62nd as a team. Rutgers by far the lowest rated Big Ten school at 121 and UConn at 129 (second worst team in FBS). Our conference ranking will vastly improve with them out. Other notables include GT at 79 and Maryland at 68. Should be good games, but hopefully our home field advantage will give us the edge!

Well, it looks like we'll have plenty to talk about this week on The Scoop when it comes to Temple basketball recruiting. Lynn Green III is set to take an official visit the weekend of Sept. 27, and the dominoes could start to fall soon with Taj Thweatt, Obinna Anochili-Killen and Mikeal Brown-Jones.
