With Khalif Battle announcing his commitment yesterday, Temple now has at least 10 players solidly in the fold for next season. Nate Pierre-Louis is showing some signs on social media that he's looking forward to playing Battle, but we'll have to see how that plays out. There's still no definitive word yet on what he'll do, and he declined a recent interview request.
So what's next with the two or maybe three scholarships Aaron McKie and his staff have to offer?
@Sam Cohn spoke to
Jeremiah Williams, and the Simeon High School standout said Temple is his No. 1 school right now and that a decision is coming soon.
In case you missed it last week, Sam talked to Williams and
wrote a story about his recruitment. Williams averaged 16.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 blocks for Simeon this season and
earned second-team all-city honors from the Chicago Sun-Times.
If Williams commits to Temple, he'll give McKie and the Owls some much-needed point guard depth behind Tai Strickland. Although he was the biggest guard on his Simeon High School team and played more off the ball, Williams played a lot of point guard for his
Mean Streets AAU program in the Nike EYBL circuit.
