When do we turn the corner?

And what will it take?
Jay Wright took about 4 seasons to have a breakthrough.
Matt Rhule was three seasons (though not totally analogous, but I think you get my point.)

So when do we think we can have a breakthrough? What will it take? Sometimes you can point to a turning point win or a game changing player. This year is a pandemic so perhaps we scratch it from the books. Just curious to others thoughts as I have been away from the board for a while (COVID had me lose some interest).

Conversation with Jeff Knowles Part 1

I called Temple defensive coordinator Jeff Knowles on Thursday to talk about Kobe Wilson and we ended up discussing Wilson, the defense and a whole lot more. Lots of good info here. This is Part One of our conversation with Knowles. There will be a Part Two tomorrow.

The Scoop with Marc Jackson

As I just posted in the Build your perfect Temple basketball team thread, we are tentatively scheduled to have Temple great Marc Jackson on The Scoop tomorrow. We'll ask him about how he would spend his $15 to put together the perfect Temple team, ask him about the current squad and have him share some stories about his playing days on North Broad Street and in the NBA.

If you have mailbag questions for him or for us, please post them here and we'll see if we can get to a few with Marc.

Thank you for listening!

Power 6?

It is so frustrating that closed minded business czars is preventing the move to power 6. Instead of being ahead of the curve and cultivate newer teams from different conferences leading to better match ups creating more competitive games. The Cincy vs. GEORGIA game as a prime example .

With technology and social media and the depth of quality football players developing in high school AND deeper pool of qualified coaching can support a move to a power 6.

Current set up you see so many kids transferring or worried about how many stars they are so they get the scholarship to big time programs that they get list in the shuffle too many times.

They are affraid to lose influence on the current power and money structure. Kinda like the coal industry.

Pac 12 is a joke.....like a really bad dad joke
Big 12 is overrated ....basically 7on7 football with helmets
AAC is top heavy
BIG TEN gets too much credit
Notre Dame still stuck living in past and think to highly of themselves and can't really compete with big boys
SEC has the best talent and toughest competition

Kobe Wilson is all in

@SamNeumann got some interesting stuff from the promising freshman linebacker. Lots of insight about how he feels about the program and what Rod Carey and his staff are doing to keep the players engaged at a time when the team has been hit hard by the NCAA's Transfer Portal.

Film Study: Khalif Battle

I took a look back at Khalif Battle's third game in a Temple uniform and broke down some film on what he did well along with areas he can improve up in my latest story. Let me know what you think!
