Dion Dawkins and Haason Reddick

Haason Reddick and Dion Dawkins had their preliminary hearing this morning. The duo faced charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, conspiracy and endangerment of an other from an off-campus incident a few months ago.

Per Philadelphia court records, Reddick had all four of his charges dismissed due to lack of evidence while Dawkins had three of his four charges dismissed due to lack of evidence. Dawkins still faces a simple assault charge. Reddick expects to be reinstated to the team.

2016 recruiting....

Is it my imagination or does the list of 2016 offers made look pretty thin? I'm looking at verbalcommits.com and we have 12 offers outstanding for 2016 and half of them are only 2 star recruits. I seem to recall the 2015 recruiting list was much more robust, with several players that were leaning Temple.

When do 2016 players start making decisions? Do we still planning on making additional offers, or is this list pretty much it?

I'm concerned that the 2015 class was an outlier and that we're going to fall back into our recent history of getting one, maybe two recruits of real quality.

Owl Club event last night

The event was held at the Pyramid Club in Center City. Pat Kraft was introduced as the new AD and said, "we will beat PSU & ND, then run the table and play for the National Championship". He talked about new facility for soccer, field hockey and lacrosse at the William Penn site. The Boathouse construction has started on the Schuylkill. Quite possibly my favorite announcement was that Under Armour is putting in an Temple gear store on Broad St.

NBPA Camp

Several of Temple's top recruiting targets will be at next week's NBPA annual Top 100 high school basketball camp at the University of Virginia. Almost 300 players from that camp have gone on to NBA careers since its inception in 1994.

The players in attendance being recruited by Temple include Roman Catholic High School point guard Tony Carr, Neumann Goretti point guard Quade Green, 22 Feet Academy center Sedee Keita and St. Anthony center Taurean Thompson, whose recruitment is really starting to take off after some strong AAU performances on the EYBL circuit with the NJ Playaz Club.

Former Temple point guard Luis Guzman is helping out as a volunteer assistant with the Playaz, which is his former AAU program.

Quarterback

Any 4* quarterbacks showing interest? It doesn't seem out of the question that a top level QB would see PJ is on his way out and there isn't any unsurpassable talent waiting in his shadows. Seems like a good opportunity for a player who wants to start right away and take a program to the next level.
