Tournament Hopes

I know it is still very early, but when you know going into the season that you have a fringe bubble team, and you start the season losing to all 3 ranked teams you play... You get the feeling that you will have needed to steal at least one of those wins to get in.

With a schedule that doesn't have a whole lot of marquee games left, we will likely have to have a win against 2 ranked in-conference opponents (possibly Cincy and Uconn). I don't see a win against a ranked Nova. The result of the Wisconsin game, in my opinion, may decide a lot due to their conference affiliation and "perennial quality team" perception.

Again, I know it's extremely early, but looking at last season where we would have had to beat SMU just once to get it, you can't help but look at our schedule and think a Utah and Butler win was imperative to get into the tournament.

Kyle Friend will play Saturday

That was probably the biggest piece of news to come out of Matt Rhule's press conference today regarding the team. Friend practiced today after being cleared by Temple's doctors.

And for those of you who continue to ask if Rhule has addressed the Missouri situation with his team, two things:

1. In case you missed Kyle's tweet, Rhule is no longer a candidate for the job.

2. Jahad Thomas said this today when asked about the Missouri coaching situation and if Rhule has addressed the team about the situation, which he has:

"In life, when someone wants to talk to you about a job, you always listen. But just because you listen doesn't mean you're gonna go."

So as we've been saying since Sunday, Missouri and Rhule talked. Rhule, barring anything completely crazy, will be coaching at Temple again next season.

3* CB and Miami commit James Wiggins, and 2* RB/ATH and FIU commit Jawon Hamilton are visiting in January. Wiggins also has offers from Cincy, Purdue, and USF. Hamilton also has an offer from FAU. Kansas is also trying to get Hamilton. Not sure if they have offered yet.

Temple Greats at Delaware game

Wasn't able to make it to the game yesterday. I listened on the radio and heard Harry and John mention Eddie Jones, Howie Evans, Levan Alston (for obvious reasons) and Dionte Christmas were all there. Good to see those guys back, all class acts and great Owls who I absolutely love talking to.

My question to anyone who was there yesterday including JDC- do you guys know who else was there? Would've loved to talk to them. Was Macon Perry or Blackwell there? Coach Chaney? Anyone who knows kindly let me know.

Matt Rhule interview on Sirius College Sports show

Rhule was on today around 12:00. He talked about the team, especially the seniors. The interview was peppered with "... we all move on sometime", " FBS coaching is very much a movong target". However he did say, that he and his family love Temple and family, and dont want to move on. But hinted that the money involved in college football keeps getting bigger.

My take and the interviewers take was, he will stay with a new contract, In fact, after the interview, one of the commentators, sorry I dont know who it was, knows Pat Kraft. And said "... Pat this is a no brainer, get the deal done, and now".
