Amazed that national media hasn't mentioned the play that decides a game

I am not sure what to think ? There is just no major questioning of the non call . Maybe it is " like it was only Temple so who cares ? " . Could it be that the power 5 team won and why ruffle some feathers . I don't even see the local press questioning that call . It ends a season for a team and the careers of four players . I just don't get it . It was so obvious to me that it was a major , easy to see and highlighted play that was just not called correctly . The officials decided who would win . Can't happen . Am I crazy ???

Recruiting.

Ok, so the demons have been exercised. I'll continue to watch the rest of the NCAAs from my couch instead of buying a plane ticket to the second weekend. So it goes.

Where are we from a recruiting perspective ? Any game changing types on the radar that we can possibly close? Transfers for next year?

DECOSEY

I have ripped his lackadaisical play over the years, but he was a man today. In the past, he would have blown one of those three free throws at the end of the game, but today he had ice water in his veins. He.really came to play. Except for losing the ball with us up 2 in overtime, he was a stud. I apologize for ever calling him this team's version of Mik KIlgore.

Big recruiting Saturday

I'm told that Temple will host around 80 recruits on Saturday for spring practice. They are also holding a post-practice barbecue for the recruits. For now, a few names that will be in attendance:

-2017 Burlington WR Everett Wormley
-2018 Rancocas Valley RB Iverson Clement
-2017 Cherry Hill West CB Harrison Hand

Another recruiting note: Temple will host 2017 Boys Latin Charter (Baltimore, Md.) defensive end Victor Dimukeje for an unofficial visit next Thursday. The Owls offered him earlier this week.

OP - ED

It took me awhile to ponder how i feel after another letdown? Do I express my anger after another letdown from OneNDunphy ? Do i blame Danny Dingle for missing a foul shot from his off hand ? Or Jaylen for missing numerous 2 foot shots ?

No, instead i feel tragically sad for a group of overmatched warriors being thrown into an arena against taller, more talented, faster opponents. Sad because one person allows them to continually show up for street fights with a pea shooter.

How many times do you think these kids and fans have said subconsciously, " if we only had a (fill in the blank)". But they never have that one or two missing pieces to get over the top. Instead they are forced to overachieve.

All of this falls on the shoulders of one person who has massively underperformed for 10 years.

FRANCIS DUNPHY

Well coached game

Can't blame Dunphy for any coaching deficiencies in this one. He coached a great game, but we're always one or two players away. Giving up so many late game offensive rebounds was a killer, none more than the last one. Yea the Iowa player pushed off a bit on the last play, But Obi has to be tougher and stronger in that situation. Not sure about that kid's toughness. Can certainly understand Q's frustration on the last play with him. Obi's toughness is a big question moving forward. Honestly, I don't even think it's even a question anymore.

With all his limitations, Williams played a much tougher more fearless game than Obi did, unfortunately he just doesn't have the talent. Again, always a player or two away. Kudos to Decosey, Brown, and Bond. Those guys played with more heart than I've seen in a while. Especially Decosey. Making those 3 freethrows was unbelievable. For a senior, Coleman surely played poorly down the stretch.

Wash post/dunphy

The post had an article about overachievers and underachievers in regard to coaches in the dance. It was based on seeds regular season and other metrics. The overs were izzo coach k and other high profile coaches. Not to beat a dead horse but the unders were i.dunphy.2 huggins. 3 dixon.
While i have no expectation for this weekend i feel this team overachieved.Hopefully dunphy can can improve on his numbers starting friday

Come on guys....

Come on guys....stop being so meanie pants. The boys played their little hearts out and the Coachy Woaches tried really really hard too. We should all bake some cookies and send them down to the Loacouras Center with a note that says "Hey Team......thank you for trying so hardie pants for everybody". Go team!

I don't know what's wrong with you negative Nancy's. Franny tries weally weally hard!

And then we should all cancel our ****ing season tickets until the ****ing AD does something about this bullshit. And you can quote me. My name is John Longacre, not Papa Owl. Spelled JOHN, LONGACRE.

Thank You Seniors it was a fun year

From the beginning nobody gave you a chance, picked sixth in conference. The early season was lacking in victories, however the team found a way to bond and scratch out victory after victory, ultimately winning the AAC regular season championship. The final game was a microcosm of the regular season, a gutsy performance against a quality team in Iowa, a push or shove a different way and Temple would have been victorious and we all would be dreaming the NCAA dream.

You brought back pride to Temple provided the building blocks to a new future.

Thank You Seniors.
