Here we are again

. We are sitting in chairs later today and hoping that our number is called . Same as last year . I am really torn with Tenple basketball because of two very realistic characteristics of the program .

This years team ( just like last year ) has overachieved , played hard and really is a team that you admire . They have stuck together , play as a team and maximize their talent . The kids represent our school well and that is important . The coach is a quality role model and a very good at teaching kids the game of basketball . He as well is a great representative for Temple and just a good man . I will root for them today to get a chance on the big dance and they deserve it if their number is called . They have accomplished close to their maximum this year so how can you root against them .

On the other side , we have a coach and staff that is signed for another 4 to 5 years and what I just wrote above looks like the ceiling for this program . Every year will be NCAA dance or NIT . That's it . Sorry I want more but this is it and it saddens me . I want a sold out arena and mentions that we are on par with the big boys at times but those days left us with the turn of the century . John Chaney and the David /Goliath he created is gone . 10 years of Fran Dunphy tells me it isn't coming back anytime soon .

I try to post positive stuff here but the mediocrity sometimes gets the best of me . There are a lot of other big time Temple fans that bleed the colors but sometimes can't get beyond the low ceiling we have in basketball . I love Temple and its basketball program . I personally just hate to be mediocre at anything .

Sholarships

After not landing any of the players from Roman Catholic, any chance TU would offer, Ryan Daly from Archbishop Carroll? Just named MVP of the PCL. He has the size and athletic ability to play in the right program, an offer from Hartford but not signed. Although I am a Roman guy and upset about what is going on, sending all our players to State Penn, this kid seems to have a great deal going for him. We have taken a chance on players with less ability.

With three to play, a chance for 20 wins and a conference regular season first place finish.. I am sticking with the "BOYS"..Go Owls..just win..
