2024 Football Scholarship Board

Time, as they say, is a flat circle so here's this year's version of the OwlScoop.com football scholarship board.

As always, I'll update this as the offseason progresses. Couple of notes...
  1. The transfer window opens December 4. You'll likely see players announce that they intend to enter the transfer portal prior to that date but most will happen on or after December 4. The first transfer window closes quicker this year, as anybody that wants to transfer prior to the summer has to inform their school by January 2.
  2. As of right now, I'm going to keep all the sixth-year guys on this table until they announce that they're not coming back next year. That includes guys like Jordan Magee, Yvandy Rigby, Edward Saydee, Victor Stoffel and Wisdom Quarshie, all of whom could be back next year or could decide to leave North Broad Street.

11/28 - Removed EJ Warner after he announced his intention to enter the transfer portal.
12/1 - Removed Davion Hood after he announced his intention to enter the portal.
12/2 - Removed Edward Saydee after he announced his intention to enter the portal.
12/16 - Removed Jordan Magee after he declared for the NFL Draft.
12/19 - Removed Yvandy Rigby after he declared for the NFL Draft.
12/20 - Removed Kamar Wilcoxson, Brenyen Scott, Chris Van Eekeren, Muheem McCargo and Alex Odom after the updated official roster removed them. Also removed Richard Dandridge after he entered the portal.
12/27 - Removed Jalen McMurray after he announced he was entering the portal.
12/31 - Removed Victor Stoffel after he announced he was entering the portal.
1/4 - Removed Dominick Hill after he announced he was entering the portal.
1/11 - Removed Darvon Hubbard after he announced he was entering the portal.
1/16 - Removed Bryce Thoman and Jermaine Donaldson after they announced they were entering the portal.
4/5 - Removed Clifton McDowell and Zamar Grove after they announced they were entering the portal.
4/15 - Spring ball is over and the inevitable departures have started. Removed Kaleb Barnett, Gensley Auguste and Corey Yeoman.
4/16 - Removed Daiyaan Hawkins and Sam Martin.
4/17 - Removed Corey Palmer.
4/18 - Removed Jason Moore, Kyle Williams and Chevez Trask.
4/19 - Removed Joseph Appiah Darkwa.
4/24 - Removed Zyheem Coleman-Frazier after he was removed from the roster.

Three more verbals

Western Carolina safety Andreas Keaton, Austin Peay kicker Maddox Trujillo and Arkansas redshirt freshman defensive back Jaylen Lewis all committed today, per multiple sources.

Keaton, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound rising senior, had 66 total tackles and three passes defended. Lewis, a former 3-star recruit out of Brownsville, Tennessee with multiple high-major offers from programs like Auburn, Florida State and Michigan State, played sparingly in his first two seasons with the Razorbacks. Ironically enough, the only game in which he recorded stats came in the season opener against Western Carolina, when he had two tackles.

Trujillo went 13 of 15 on field goals this season, with a long of 45 yards. His numbers were improved from a year ago, when he went 11 of 20 on field goals but did hit a 55-yarder. He was named the United Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year this season.

This weekend's visitors and another commit

Linebacker Katin Surprenant just committed today. Zach Silverstein wrote about him earlier this week, and you can catch that story out on the front page.

Also in now on visits:

Michael Phoenix (WR - Kilgore College, TX)

Andreas Keaton (DB - Western Carolina, NC)

Tyrell Reed (RB - Hutchinson CC, KS)

Tyrei Washington (RB - City College of San Francisco, CA)

Commits Sultan Badmus and Ahmad Foster are in as well for their official visits.
