Mailbag questions for The Scoop with Diane Richardson

Temple women's basketball coach Diane Richardson will be joining us on The Scoop this week, so we're taking mailbag questions for her and for the podcast as a whole.

In addition to talking to Diane, we'll talk about the Dillon Battie verbal commitment and any other recruiting news that might break tomorrow, so we'll have plenty of hoops talk to go around.

So if you have something for us or for Diane, please drop it in here by noon tomorrow and we'll get to as many questions as we can on the podcast.

Thanks as always for listening!

Positivity and confidence are keys to Adam Fisher's coaching

It was one game. The opponents will certainly get tougher, and Temple is still a few pieces away from where Adam Fisher wants the Owls to be.

But the vibe around the program was tangibly different last night.

Start Times for Last Three Games

at USF - noon on ESPN+
at UAB - 3 p.m. on ESPN+
Memphis - noon on ESPN

Saturday visitor

Per a source familiar with his recruitment, Jalen Rougier-Roane, a class of 2025 guard who plays at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., will be on campus today for an unofficial visit. He picked up an offer from Temple back in September and also has offers from programs like Penn State, Xavier and Providence.

Jalen's mother, Margarete Rougier, played basketball at Temple from 1989 to 1993 and was later inducted into the Big 5 Hall of Fame in 2000.

Rougier-Roane, one of the top players in the DMV, was part of a Sidwell program that won the D.C. State Athletic Association Class AA championship. He dislocated his patella in the closing moments of that game but has since recovered and played AAU for Team Takeover this past summer.

How Do We Get More Fans Into the Linc?

Anyone have ideas, promotions or new ways to get more people out to games (or people from the parking lot to actually go in)? I know money is always an issue, Temple tickets are cheap already and the Eagles may have a say in what can or can not be done. And obviously Temple winning games would help.

But there has to be ways (outside Homecoming) to get larger crowds in the lower bowl (and then hopefully building from there).

As an aside, single tickets do not go on sale until August per the website which is how most sport tickets are sold. I (and others) have said repeatedly that while season tickets are very important I don’t see some huge number of new season tickets happening before the season. Can single tickets be put on sale sooner and focus on getting people into the stadium?

We'll also have some audio from today's men's basketball media day, so we'll have plenty of hoops content for you.

Temple hosts an official visit from the 2024 class

Temple hosted class of 2024 combo guard Aiden Tobiason on an official visit this week. He arrived on campus late Thursday morning, and his visit wrapped up last night, according to several sources familiar with his recruitment.

The 6-foot-5 Tobiason has seen his recruitment really pick up over the last few months. Last weekend, he scored 35 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against Neumann-Goretti in the Luv1ne Classic at Delaware's Odessa High School. In addition to the Temple offer he received a week ago, he has offers from Delaware, Delaware State, Vermont, Sacred Heart and UMBC.

I haven't seen him play, but two people who have told me he has high major ability and that his offer list beyond Temple isn't a true indication of his ability and upside.
