Great Season tickets

When renewing my season tickets I realize that I'm going to miss most games due to a family member going through cancer treatments and my kids both heavily involved in extracurricular activities. Most years I make all the games. Is anyone interested in purchasing purchasing games or possibly the season? Section 103, down low and awesome seats. I have 4 total tickets and would like to sell a pair for a half or full season. I'm not putting them on stub-hub and only want to sell them for what they cost me. My goal is to make sure that the seats are filled every game with Temple fans. I've had these season tickets for a long time and most everybody in my section are longtime true die hard fans. That's why I'm hoping to have the seats filled every game with Temple fans instead of having empty seats or obnoxious fans from another team buying the seats off stub hub or a broker. If anyone is interested reach out to me.

Amazing, so much bitching about this game

Temple, the coaching and game management played a near perfect game. The weather was soo, soo, horrible, could not even see it on TV. The players stayed composed, coaches called conservative plays because of the horrible conditions, yet they grinded it out and WON big.

Yet there were so many people on this board who complained about everything. Yes it was a tight game but the Owls kept grinding it out. Made so many BIG plays. Congratulations to play calling and executing and winning big.

GO Owls!!!

Improvement is evident across the whole team 1/3 of the way through the season; which has improved the most.
We'll revisit this topic later in the season.

1974

I see that it is being reported that this is our first 4-0 start since 1974. I thought I would look into this. I did note the following interesting points:
(1) Actually, we started 6-0 in 1974 with wins over Rhode Island, Boston College, Marshall, Southern Illinois, Holy Cross and Delaware.
(2) At that point, we cracked the Top 20 at # 19.
(3) We then lost the next two - to Cincinnati and Pitt.
(4). We won the final two - against West Virginia and Villanova - to finish 8-2.
(5). As there were only 11 bowl games in 1974, we did not make it to a bowl.

ECU has a new starting QB

I was just watching some highlights of ECU. It looks like former UNC 4 star commit James Summers is going to be the starting QB going forward. Looked good and it will be a tough matchup. I know we have two games before them but this development is going to make this a very tough matchup. Temple has struggled with dual-threat QBs in the past.

Dare to Dream....

From Yahoo sports---Every week, I will play Selection Committee member, take a look at the College Football Playoff picture and offer what I believe the bracket should be if the season ended today. Call it Forde’s Fab Four, and feel free to disagree.

This week is the Blow The Whole Thing Up And Start Over Edition:

COTTON BOWL: No. 1 Utah vs. No. 4 Baylor
ORANGE BOWL: No. 2 Northwestern vs. No. 3 Florida

Also considered: Oklahoma, TCU, Clemson, Ohio State, Michigan State, Texas A&M, Florida State, California, Stanford, Iowa, Temple, Houston.

Who would have thought as a Temple fan we would even be mentioned in an article like this? We run the table and go undefeated that will give us lots of options! So good to be a Temple fan these days!

Hard to evaluate this game

The score looks like we handled Charlotte easily, but those of us who watched it know the truth. The miserable weather affected both teams accounting for drops, errant throws, and a ton of missed tackles. Who knows what the score would have been under better conditions. Would PJ have passed more? Would the Charlotte QB have been more accurate? I'm thrilled we won, but the Owls may have made it harder than it had to be.

Brodrick Yancy, T.J. Simmons

Matt Rhule mentioned yesterday that wide receiver Brodrick Yancy has recovered well from the injury he sustained at Cincinnati two weeks ago that led him to be stabilized and immobilized while being carted off the field. "We're hopeful he'll play against Charlotte," Rhule said.

When I asked Rhule if there are other players on the verge of contributing or seeing more snaps, he talked about how they want to get more backs involved in the running game considering Thomas has worn down and fumbled in consecutive weeks to create turnovers that almost lost both games. Rhule then mentioned Ryquell Armstead and Jager Gardner. He did not mention T.J. Simmons.

So it sure seems Simmons is the fourth back in the mix right now. It's not uncommon at all for a highly-recruited player to not start or play right away or even get redshirted, but I am curious about how Simmons will respond. Although Rhule didn't say anything more than that Simmons was banged up during camp, a source familiar with the situation said Simmons did suffer a concussion at one point, and that slowed his progress, so that's a tough break and would perhaps explain why Rhule didn't get into specifics about his injury.

After seeing some special teams snaps at Cincinnati, Simmons did not travel to UMass. I think Thomas came out of the gate better than even the coaches expected, but it's still clear they need to build depth and options behind him. And for now, it seems Armstead and Gardner are ahead of Simmons in that mix. The bye week and the team they take to Charlotte will likely tell us a lot about where Simmons stands.
