Women vs Uconn today

My wife is a UConn fan who wants to go today (and is still bitter about Thursday night), but the game is sold out. Looks like there's nothing on any secondary market sites, anyone have a clue about whether there are scalpers for these games? I doubt there are for normal games, but maybe they'd show up today especially since there's a men's game after.

TUFB Talent

TM, MI, and TY all got invited to the NFL Combine..., validation of just how special the 2015 D really was..., pro talent on the DL, LB, and in the D backfield..., and not hard to fathom Nate Smith and Walton finding spots when all the dust has settled..,

on the offense, Friend and Anderson will probably sign as a free agents...,

the foundation with all the nuts and bolts is there in 2016..., would be nice to see some of our skill players get invited to the Combine next year

ROSTER SUBTRACTIONS

Noticed several players who had eligibility remaining are gone from roster.

Besides WR Matt Eaton, K Jim Cooper, WR Sam Benjamin and QB Tim DiGiorgio, who I knew were leaving, I see that TE Thomas Rumer, QB John Loughery, WR Dean Mosley, FB Eric Neefe, FB Daiqwon Buckley, WR Corey Gaarn, RB Roy Wesley, DL-OL Julio Desrosier and WR Rob Heyen. Gaarn and Buckley, who redshirted as freshmen this past season, were touted as decent players, with Gaarn being compared to John Christopher by some on this board. Surprised he's gone.

Mark Williams Incredible Minute

Mark Williams' deficiencies have been discussed ad nauseum, but at least for one minute (actually 61 seconds) he was the best player on the court yesterday. In a crucial sequence with just under six minutes remaining and Temple trailing 54-50 Williams' big minute went like this:

5:56 remaining: Hustles back on defense to block layup attempt by Walker that would have put UCF up 6.

5:49: Again hustles (lumbers?) back down the court to score in transition on a nice feed from Trey Lowe, which cuts the deficit to 54-52.

5:28: On UCF's ensuing position draws an offensive foul call on Mcbride turning UCF over.

5:09: Hits a three pointer to put Temple up 55-54.

4:55: Grabs the defensive rebound after a UCF miss.

So, Williams stat line for those 61 seconds: 5 points, a block, a rebound, and a drawn charge. Not bad!

Approaching March...

:cool:... And the football board is buzzing, and rightfully so!

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

If TUFB had even half the tradition of TUMBB; just imagine the recruits Matt could pull in on a regular basis!

Take Notes Dunpher!! I'm tired of hearing that Philly kids don't wanna stay home. Nova gets them. Matt gets them. Additionally, TUFB has proven you can recruit top notch recruits to Temple... Our campus is sexy nowadays, this isn't your Father's TU! It'll a be even sexier once the stadium and retail space are built

Will Nova Be #1?

I'm not looking ahead, but yes I am, sort of. Look, the Owls must take care of business vs. UConn and USF. That said, the real possibility is there that Nova will be #1 when they visit campus on February 17. I do not remember the last time that has happened. None of the big names that have come through recently at the Wells Fargo Center were #1 and that does not really count. I'm talking a campus visit. St. Joe's in 2003-04 was not No. 1 until the last poll before the conference tournaments. When UNLV visited in 1990ish, maybe?

For information purposes, Nova plays DePaul and St. John's before the game with Temple so its very hard to see them losing. I assume they will be #1 this week after UNC and Oklahoma lost to unranked opponents.
