Temple delivered an offer to 2017 Raines High School (Fla.) athlete Willie Wright on Wednesday, as he announced via Twitter.
Temple recruiting assistant Adam DiMichele, who gave Wright a phone call on Wednesday to deliver the offer, made one thing crystal clear.
"They need speed," Wright told OwlScoop.com. "They just look for speed. I know that."
The speed trend is nothing new for Temple. The Owls made speed a priority in the 2016 recruiting class and inked burners such as wide receivers Freddie Johnson and Randle Jones (two Florida natives) and running back Tyliek Raynor.
Although Wright plays a combination of running back and wide receiver at Raines, Temple envisions him as a slot receiver.
Wright, a 5-foot-8, 155-pounder, said that he typically clocks "around a 4.47" 40-yard dash time.
According to MaxPreps.com, Wright had 27 receptions for 254 yards (9.4 average) and five touchdowns as a junior. He also returned both kicks and punts.
