As the Eagles season continues to spiral toward a possible crash landing on Monday, it occurred to me that the public’s outrage toward the organization and its product may reach deafening levels in the coming weeks. Despite the hiccups after Doug Pederson was fired, fans haven’t been this pissed at the organization in quite some time.
And if the Eagles lose Monday, the timing might be perfect for a well-orchestrated social media and/or grassroots campaign to draw attention to the outrageous gouging to rent a facility the team doesn’t even f-ing own.
If facts are presented (especially if the Pitt/Steelers/Heinz Field dynamic is accurate), we might be able to get public support and some media to at least ask hard questions. Clearly, nobody at Temple will or should get involved in such a campaign, but why not leverage some misdirected fan anger to our advantage?
Look no further than the Stadium Stompers that forced our chicken shit administration to crawl back into a hole or even a current example, literally from today, where public outrage backed my media support led to the reversal of the plans to remove the William Penn statue in South Philly.
Thoughts?
