Walker was originally an Illinois commit coming out of Oswego East High School in 2018 but couldn't meet Illinois' academic admissions requirements so he committed to Carey's NIU program. Walker started a game as a true freshman in 2018 and started two games at cornerback in 2019 before ultimately redshirting. In the four games he played in 2019, however, Walker was NIU's top-rated cornerback when targeted by opposing quarterbacks. Opponents targeted Walker 13 times but he allowed just four catches for 49 yards and no touchdowns.

The Scoop: Season 6, Episode 12 mailbag questions

Good morning, everyone!

We are tentatively scheduled to have Craig Angelos, Temple's deputy director of athletics and the sports administrator for men's basketball, on The Scoop today. We are taking mailbag questions up until 3:30 p.m. today, so if you have a question for Craig or for us, please post it here and we'll answer as many as we can on the podcast.

Thank you all for listening. We appreciate it.

SMU Thread

I guess I’ll start it. I’ll just say one thing before this game gets underway.. I think the coaches need to open up this offensive playbook. Let Trad and Re-al play and give them the freedom. They’ll make their mistakes but that’s how they’ll learn and grow. We won’t score more than 3 points if they don’t open it up.

Recruiting Update series

We'll be bringing you coverage of several of Temple's verbal commitments from the 2021 class. @SamNeumann talked to Mount Carmel High School quarterback Justin Lynch and Archbishop Carroll (Washington, D.C.) High School offensive tackle Jimto Obidegwu this week. Those stories are out on the front page now.

The Scoop: Season 6, Episode 11 mailbag questions

Hi, everyone! If you have mailbag questions for this week's episode of The Scoop, please post them here and we'll answer them on the podcast.

Lots of stuff to get into today, including Re'Mahn Davis' announcement that he has decided to enter the transfer portal. We'll also talk to Sam Neumann about his recent conversation with 2021 verbal Justin Lynch, and we'll of course preview Saturday's game against SMU.

And here's your friendly reminder to please subscribe, rate and review on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. We sincerely appreciate your support.

Could take a Decade To Overcome

It may take a decade to overcome the hiring of this coaching staff. After having the program moving 'Forward' in recent years, here we go again.
We've returned to the old days, not the good ole days either.
Football season is just a sign that basketball isn't far off ... just like it used to be.
Single Digit uniforms are "given out" instead of "Earned".
Fundamentals are lacking. Blocking and Tackling aren't being taught.
An overall 'Wuss' mentality is projected.
Coaching staff can't make decisions and live with them. For instance, they don't know who the backup QB is ... everybody is 'above the line'.
Just sayin .....

Monday notebook: Owls dealing with several injuries heading into Tulane

I suppose we could say that injuries are bound to catch up with any team during the course of a season, and now Temple is facing that, along with some COVID-related issues that have affected the team's availability when Temple plays at Tulane Saturday.

Here's our story from Sam Neumann and Sam Cohn from Rod Carey's weekly Monday press conference.
