Lessons learned by all (I hope!)

As the game was going on, it was pretty close and until 2H when we started pulling away. Just before that texting with a buddy and he says damn Wagner is scrappy, we better get things fixed for Nova. My reply back was that I was fine with that because psychologically I’d rather us be gritty for Friday than have just coasted to victory. Little did I know we then go on a run to go up 15, and then eventually lose in OT. What a weird game.
All this said, how they respond on Friday will tell us ALOT. And to me response isn’t just winning, but I’m talking disciplined and focused. The great one said “Winning is an attitude”. You have to develop that mindset.

After season lost to COVID, Ryquell Armstead battled to prove — and trust — himself

It's paywalled, but if you subscribe, this was a very good piece in The Athletic:

Hundreds of NFL players wound up on COVID injured reserve in 2020, but Armstead’s case stands alone. A fifth-round pick out of Temple in 2019, he was set to compete for the starting running back job in Jacksonville until a scary battle with COVID-19 led to an even scarier diagnosis.

Armstead was the only player to spend the entire 2020 season on COVID-IR. He’s the only known NFL player diagnosed with multi-inflammatory syndrome (MIS), a serious and rare condition caused by the coronavirus, and one of very few players known to have experienced heart inflammation, or myocarditis, as a result of COVID.

We Still need to earn the respect …. We haven’t won anything !!!!

I think everyone can see that McKie has really changed the level of personnel over the last three years . When you can honestly play 9 or 10 quality players and have many of them with very special skill sets then you have a chance to be very good to excellent . That being said, these players have to earn the respect with Ws and do it in a convincing fashion. Defense and Rebounding have To be an integral part of every game from playing a Wagner to playing Villanova.

Roster updates

Adam Klein, we're told, made the trip, but it sounds as of now like he won't play. Still don't have a definitive word on James Faminu. Richard Rodriguez, we're told, did not make the trip. He was the victim of a car accident earlier this week and is doing OK, but Wisdom Quarshie is going to start at center.

Adonicas Sanders did make the trip, but I don't see him as of yet warming up.
