My daughter goes to U of O, they have never won a NC, FSU wins all the time (29 straight) - so I was rooting for Oregon. But I hate the way they do offense. It makes the game like a track meet with a football. I just cannot watch it, so I turned it off at halftime and checked back periodically.
Glad Ducks won and want them to win the NC, but I just can't watch them.

Watched the Eagles but I'm not here to debate them. They are another story. I did notice the number of times they used the TE. Ertz had a career day. I would like to see Temple's become a real offensive weapon not just a blocker. Remember Rod.

Since PSU is our first game next year, I saw they just lost their second player (Deion Barnes) to the draft that still had eligibility to play next year. Offensive lineman Donovan Smith was the other. It also looks like defensive lineman Anthony Zettel has requested a draft evaluation as well but plans to return (for now at least).

This is perhaps the only game I've watched where I wanted both teams to lose. Hackenberg looked like the QB we saw as a freshman, as his OL gave him time to throw. PSU looked like a far different team than they were against Temple, at least on the offensive side of the ball. BTW, PSU won in OT having converted an extra point after BC missed theirs.

Indiana's Tevin Coleman declared for the draft, so I would think that opens things up for Chestnut to commit to the Hoosiers, although I'm hoping the Owls are still in it.

Per a source I spoke with today, it doesn't look like Temple will be taking Rutgers transfer Savon Huggins.

When is the recruiting dead period?

If you stick with PJ , then this team needs to run the football . This will be a tall task because it looked like there were very few kids on the offensive line that can get you where you want to go . That will be project #1 . Finding lineman that can help run the football .

Temple then needs to get better running backs . Three were hurt this year so maybe there is somebody there better than what we had . Would be nice we also had some backs that can catch out of the backfield .

Fix the kicking game . The coverage's were good but Temple needs to get a lot better in the punt and field goal area . When you take a step up next year then we will be in closer games and the kicking game becomes even more important . We need to find lick and punt returner that can go the distance but also be reliable .

Time management has to be much better than it was this year . The use of timeouts will also hurt in close games . The coaches and players are both involved in this area .

PJ can only throw the ball max of 25 times and it has to be passes he completes. PJ certainly has to learn " touch " because most of his passes are too flat . Needs to put air under the ball at times .

Defense has to get better at getting off the field on third down . They should be a great defense next year but have to improve on third down .

As many of you know, JUCO DT Greg Webb, a Rutgers commit, came to Temple for an official visit over the weekend. I reached out to ScarletNation, the Rutgers Rivals site, to get a general idea of how Webb's visit went. This is what I was told...

"Webb made it to campus and the visit went well. But he is still committed to Rutgers and he's Rutgers to lose. There are 40 schools still recruiting him, including one SEC school that is pushing for an official in January. But other than that, as long as Rutgers does its part and he improves academically, he'll end up Rutgers. These things are fluid, especially since he wants to be close to home and has a lot of ties to the Owls. Rutgers wasn't happy about the visit but isn't going to drop him or anything like that."

So, it seems like Webb will remain committed to Rutgers, at least for now.

The league added three dynamic offensive minds with the head-coach hires at Tulsa, Houston and SMU.

Tulsa hired Baylor offensive coordinator, SMU brought in Clemson OC Chad Morris, and Houston hired Ohio State OC Tom Herman.

That's why we need to continue to recruit defense. There are a lot of good offenses in the AAC.

It's been said many times on this thread that to be consistently bowl eligible is our goal and that we will be patient while the program builds. Now let's look at the real world. Bo Pelini, who has won at least nine games in every season at Nebraska, was fired for not winning enough!
Maybe that's our problem. We expect too little of our HCs and are content to sit back and wait for things to happen. We put no pressure on them to produce. Although Golden was here 5 or 6 years and never beat a winning MAC team, we declared him a savior and would have kept him indefinitely. We put up with Bobby Wallace for 8 years. I wonder how long we would have given Addazio?
If Pelini can get fired for "only" winning nine games a season, shouldn't we demand more from our coaching staff? Maybe we should just go out and hire him. I'll take 9 wins a season and his stature to upgrade recruiting.
As Dennis Miller would say," It's just my opinion, I could be wrong".

Is he enrolled and on board? Read and heard he is real intelligent, learns quickly, and is a real gamer especially at crunch time!

Temple is getting official visits this weekend from Fork Union Military Academy offensive lineman Joshua Nijman and former Timber Creek 4-star defensive tackle and North Carolina verbal Greg Webb, who is currently committed to Rutgers via Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.

Webb is making the trip along with Kareem Ali, per a tweet from Timber Creek coach Rob Hinson.

Just curious as to how many people that post on here are OWL Club members. If you ae not an OWL club member is there a reason why? It is interesting fact that Temple is last in the AAC in athletic donations. East Carolina which is a much smaller school than Temple receives $7 for every $1 that Temple receives in athletic donations.
