Little Guys Coach

has anyone heard from LGC since Saturday? I don't think he has posted all week.

he was quite excited Saturday, both before and after the game...especially afterwards

after the game he was looking for people to accompany him on a driving trip to Cinn; I think he was leaving at 6 am Sat morning from EO

Id love to go on the trip, but I'm playing in golf event Saturday with wife (its her event) and I have commitments on Sunday

best of luck on the trip, LGC

2-0, baby

TV Ratings

I just spoke to a friend at Comcast and he told me the ratings on their system in the Philadelphia region was 7.1. This was the type of ratings they get for Monday Night Football. They are looking forward to the ratings for this Saturday.
There is a Comcast executive on the Board of Trustees, which he believes will benefit the university's relationship with one of the region's most influential corporations.
With all the discussion about a potential P5 invite this is the most important metric that will be considered by the conferences looking for new members.

Progress

Here is an article from Philly.com called 'The Grown-up Philadelphian's Back-to-School Guide"

What I really love here is two things. One, that this is a general article about things to do in Philadelphia and it specifically calls out our sports teams (both of them). The second thing is they also call out our free library.

The real impact is Temple Football is starting to make its way into non-sports related articles. It shows that it is becoming a "cool" or "trendy" thing to jump onto in the city. This is very much progress for the school's athletic programs.

Travel to upcoming road games...

So, I’ve been looking for air fare and hotels for the next few games.

Cincinnati: Lowest fare is Delta $238, but it gets back to PHI at 10:16 Sunday night, total time with a layover 6 hours 8 mins. A more reasonable time expenditure is $289 for 5 hours.

Reasonable hotel is about $150.

Boston: Air fare is pretty cheap. You’ll have to wake up in the middle of the night, flight leaves at 7:30, but U.S. Air is $207.

Hotels in Boston are fairly spendy, $350 a night, but Foxboro area, $175 a night should get you a spot with reasonable levels of bed bug infestation.

Charlotte: This is the bargain trip, right here, folks! Now, Google Flight has a flight that’ll get you in at Midnight, and back at a reasonable time at $162. I got $77 on Frontier a few weeks ago, but they add on everything, like checking in is a charge and don’t you dare bring baggage bigger than a shoe box.
If anyone has experience with Frontier, I'd love to hear any advice.

Hotels are reasonable, $125 should get ‘er done.

I’ve booked U Mass and Charlotte. I’m kind of on the fence for Cincy.
Anyone else going?

T-Shirt idea

I wish I would have thought of this immediately after the game (instead of now, when my focus should be on Cincinnati), but this particular scene has been replayed so often as to become viral:

Get a still shot of Nate D. Smith at the moment he's dragging down Hackenberg (after having shaken the whole PSU offensive line like Dr. J going one-on-five vs. the Lakers).

Put this caption under that image: DOMINATE THE STATE (you can use different lettering or another color to highlght the "Nate" part).

Cincy coin toss

This past week we lost the toss, so PSU choose to kick off and play defense. The question is what should we do if we WIN the coin toss this week at Cincy?

Is it better to kick and allow our defense to hold them early?

Or do we receive and get our play makers on the field right away?

I think we should kickoff and play defense, but the Bearcats are a very talented offensive team.

Thoughts?

GO OWLS!!!
