Line: Notre Dame -10.5
Over/Under: 50.0

Looking over the strengths of these excellent programs, you can get a sense for the high level of competitiveness ahead. Notre Dame is built around a controlling offensive line anchored by LT Ronnie Stanley, our seventh-highest graded LT in pass protection to date. The other side of the ball finds DT Sheldon Day patrolling the interior with the sixth-best run defending grade in the nation.

Temple has previously found themselves as the predicted underdog in three games this season, overcoming each, and no team has scored twenty points (23) on the Owls since September Week 3. Viewing the Temple offense operate, it quickly becomes evident that RB Jahad Thomas is the key and LT Dion Dawkins the seam-creating bulldozer. It’s not until you examine the defense that you discover the Owls collection to be the reckoning force in their early-season dominance

The predicted spread is not only a near-guarantee to fall, the Temple defense holds such a decided advantage over that of Notre Dame’s, the Owls will most likely add another win to their impressive 7-0 season.

Prediction: Temple 30, Notre Dame 21

I have NEVER seen soo much

I have never seen so much hype about Temple. All the talk shows, TV shows, people talking Temple. I was wearing Temple gear at the gym & everybody wanted to talk Temple!! WOW. I hope our OWLS can keep up with ND & hold their own. Even if we don't get it done, what an incredible week. The most important thing is to win the AAC East. Memphis is critical, SMU is a must win after a Hugh hype with ND. Got to keep all of this in prospective. If the OWLS hold their own, this would be Hugh. But ND is in a different league then Temple. If it doesn't go our way. We got to play to WIN the AAC East. GO OWLS!!

John Oates - Temple Superfan

Anybody else just hear his interview with Gargano on 97.5? He is quite a fan of the football team. He said he watched some games last year and thought they were playing better, knew they beat Penn State, talked about their defense, the end of the ECU game and even knew where they recruit the players from. His schedule makes it tough for him to see most of the games (he is usually playing/touring on Saturdays) but it was a very good interview.

They also had Regis Philbin on at the same time to talk about Notre Dame. Regis asked "what time is the game at?" but did mention he had no idea that Temple would be as good as they are.

Crowd mix predictions?

I'm reading a lot of articles predicting a "pro-irish" crowd inside the Linc. I honestly think we'll have them 60/40 with a lot more noise since they're expecting to coast and we'll hit them in their jaws early. Expect a lot of green-wearing folks with flabbergasted looks of disbelief.

Full disclosure: One of my 3 tickets was promised to one of my best friends who is a ND fan and I believe may be dressed as a F'ing leprechaun. I told him his safety was not guaranteed.

Beat the Irish.

What if...

If Temple takes care of business Saturday night and runs the table, we will definitely be in a NY6 bowl. But will it be enough to get us into the playoffs?
SOS says no, although we will have beaten at least 3, if not 4 top 25 teams, plus Cincy and PSU. I doubt we get in against any P-5 one loss team.
Let's look at the schedule:
#1 OSU could lose to both Mich. St. and Michigan. More likely, they could lose one.
#2 Baylor lost their QB and still must play Oklahoma, Ok. St., TCU, and Texas. They could lose at least two of them.
#3 Clemson has only to defeat Florida St. to go undefeated and should get it done, so they're in.
#4 LSU has to play Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Bama could be their only loss going into the playoffs. If Bama wins, does the Championship playoff have both LSU and Bama with one loss each?
#5 TCU still must play Ok. St, Okla., and Baylor. That's quite a gauntlet at the end of the year. They could lose two of the three, but if they're undefeated, or possibly one loss, they're in.
#6 Michigan St. must beat Ohio St. End of story.
#7 Alabama must defeat LSU to have any chance, but don't rule out a loss to arch-rival Auburn
#8 Stanford must play neighbor, Cal, but also must daefeat Notre Dame to only have one loss.
#9 Notre Dame could lose to us and Stanford. Can't afford any more losses.
#10 Iowa is undefeated and likely to remain so. They didn't play Mich., Mich St. or Ohio St. If Mich. St. or Ohio St. is also undefeated, does the committee take both? SOS does not favor Iowa. They'd have to win the BIG 10 championship game to move on.
#11 Florida is likely to have only 1 loss going into the conf. championship if they can get by Fl. St. I don't think they can beat either LSU or Alabama, so they are out.
#12 Oklahoma St. still must play TCU, Baylor, and Okla. and will probably lose two of them.
#13 Utah just has to beat UCLA to finish the regular season with one loss, but I don't think they get by Stanford in the title game.
#14 Oklahoma had a "bad" loss to Texas and still must play Baylor, TCU, and Ok. St. They are out.
#16 Memphis must defeat Houston, Temple and Navy to remain undefeated and then would have to beat us again in the conference championship. I don't think they can do it.
#18 Houston won't play us until the championship game, but they must beat Navy and Memphis. I think Memphis is the better team.
So it appears that unless there are a slew of upsets, it will be OSU/Mich. St., Clemson, Alabama/LSU, and TCU in the National Championship. We should definitely be in a NY6 bowl. A great accomplishment considering we lost to Fordham and Idaho two years ago.

Joe Moore/ND/Motivation

Legendary O- Line coach was our assistant for one season after he was let go by Pitt and before Lou Holtz at ND (1987, I think). When we played Pitt, he addressed the team beforehand and asked every guy in the room who was recruited by Pitt to stand up. Two guys stood up. Coach Moore told the rest of the guys to go out on that field and show Pitt what they missed. Our guys played out of their minds and beat the Panthers that day.
After Lou Holtz was replaced by Bob Davie he fired Coach Moore noting his age of 64 years. Moore sued ND for age discrimination and a jury found in his favor.
I want our coaches to say something along the lines that Coach Moore said before our guys go out on the field Saturday night.
Go Owls !
