College of San Mateo kicker Gabriel Plascencia was in on an official visit to Temple earlier this week, OwlScoop.com has learned.
Plascencia originally signed with Mississippi State last spring as a scholarship kicker but transferred back to San Mateo for a second JUCO season.
Over two years at San Mateo, Plascencia went 26-of-39 field goals, including a 51-yarder, and 117-of-118 extra points. I think Temple is particularly interested in his kickoff ability. While I haven't been able to find stats, his highlight reel shows a big leg on kickoffs.
Plascencia, who has also received offers from schools like Kentucky, San Diego State and San Jose State will have three years to play two seasons at his next college.
