Coach Geoff Collins and defensive backs coach Cory Robinson visited Timber Creek High School Friday to see 2018 running back commit Kyle Dobbins, Chargers coach Rob Hinson told me after his team blew out Cherry Hill High School East Saturday afternoon.
Dobbins finished with three carries for 55 yards and two touchdowns, including a 45-yard scamper, in Timber Creek's 49-6 win at Cherry Hill East.
Hinson said he sat down with Collins and Robinson for about an hour and discussed a wide range of topics, including Temple's 34-26 win over Navy Thursday night. Dobbins and Hinson were both at Lincoln Financial Field to see the Owls' victory.
"I talked to Coach Collins and Coach Robinson (Friday) about how selfless Kyle has been with our team," Hinson said. "He was second on the team in tackles coming into today. He hadn't played much defense. He's had some spectacular interceptions, caused fumbles. And then on offense, he's still averaging about 8.8 yards per carry. Everything is on display. It's not like monstrous numbers, but everything's on display - his aggressiveness and speed on defense and running and ball catching abilities on offense."
The Chargers advanced to 8-0.
Temple receiver and former Timber Creek standout Adonis Jennings was on the sideline at Cherry Hill East.
