Timber Creek (Erial, N.J.) High School head football coach Rob Hinson was at Temple's Edberg-Olson Hall last week and interviewed for an off-field coaching role with the Owls, according to a source.
Hinson has been the coach at Timber Creek for 11 seasons. The Chargers have captured sectional titles in four of the last six years, including a 12-0 mark this past season.
Under Hinson's guidance, the Timber Creek football program faced a seven-month investigation by the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. The investigation ultimately found no criminal conduct.
The Owls have four players on the roster from Timber Creek - redshirt freshman defensive back Kareem Ali, junior wide receiver Adonis Jennings, junior defensive tackle Greg Webb and freshman linebacker Julian Mahan.
Hinson did not respond to a request for comment.
Former defensive backs coach Francis Brown, who joined Matt Rhule at Baylor, had strong ties to Timber Creek and was the lead recruiter on Webb, Ali and Jennings.
