Per multiple sources, Temple hosted UMBC guard Matteo Picarelli for an official visit this weekend.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Italy product averaged 10.1 points per game last season in just 22.5 minutes per contest. Adam Fisher wants Temple to put more of an emphasis on effective three-point shooting. Picarelli would definitely help in that category, as he shot 39.4 percent from three and led the America East Conference with a true shooting percentage of 62.2 percent. By comparison, Temple's best 3-point shooter, Zach Hicks, shot 35.6 percent from three-point range last year. The Owls as a whole shot 33 percent from three last season and finished No. 238 in the nation in that category.

Picarelli, who has previously played with the Italy U18 and U16 national teams, had 19 against Georgetown and 24 against Albany last season. Picarelli will have two years of eligibility left at his next school.
