I'm not sure there are two players who better epitomize Dunphy's tenure at Temple. It is absolutely unacceptable that players of their skill level are even on this team. I don't expect to be able to trot out a rotation of 7 bigs like UNC has, but it's pathetic that as a true freshman, Big Ern is so obviously better than Williams and Watson. Watson shouldn't play more than 5 minutes a game to give Bond, Obi and Big Ern a water break. Williams shouldn't play much more. There is absolutely zero reason those two should be getting minutes over Big Ern.
It was again so completely obvious we needed another big man and Dunph failed again. I have no idea why he can't find one 6'7+ 220+ JUCO big man. Very few teams in the country have big men close to UNC, but it's pathetic that a true freshman is so obviously needed in the post over players who have been here for multiple seasons.
On the plus side, all three freshmen look like they're going to be very good. You definitely saw some first game jitters from all three, but they all have a lot of potential. We just need more big men by some miracle of god.
