We'll have Matt's story up a bit later. Just wanted to pass along a few notes.

Offensive coordinator Dave Patenaude and quarterbacks Logan Marchi, Frank Nutile and Anthony Russo were available today. Marchi and Nutile have continued to get snaps with the first- and second-teams, but freshman Todd Centeio also got some first-team reps in the last 15 to 20 minutes we were able to see today. In fact, Centeio threw a pair of consecutive touchdown passes in that late period of practice -- one to Marshall Ellick and another to Brodrick Yancy at the same down the left side of the field from about 38 yards out. Both throws were delivered nicely and had some air under them.

Earlier, Marchi threw what looked like a nice ball, but it hung up there a little too long and got picked off by new grad transfer cornerback Mike Jones.

Patenaude did say Marchi and Nutile have gotten some of the first- and second-team reps early in the spring because they're older and a bit more experienced in terms of having some game action, but he stressed that it's still early and that the team does not have a depth chart.

On a few of the plays we saw late in practice, Kareem Ali was getting first-team reps and lined up across Ventell Bryant. Sean Chandler and Delvon Randall were the safeties, and Sam Franklin, Shaun Bradley (MIKE LB) and William Kwenkeu were at linebacker. Again, keep in mind that it's early and Collins has talked a lot about position flexibility and having a global approach to teaching his guys his defense, but that was the look late in today's practice.

Also, tackle Leon Johnson had his arm in a sling and was watching practice from the field. I don't have any details other than that but will follow up.

The vibe of practice is very similar -- lots of music, upbeat. The players look like they're having fun.
