The full report from Thursday's spring practice session is up on the home page. New defensive coordinator Taver Johnson was available to reporters this morning.
From talking to Benny Walls and Delvon Randall, it sounds like Johnson will play more man-to-man coverage this season.
Johnson also confirmed what Geoff Collins told @John Di Carlo and I in an interview last month - Johnson will be the defensive play-caller.
As for the practice itself, we only were permitted to watch the final 15 minutes. From the small chunk of practice we saw, Logan Marchi was running with the first team offense, while Frank Nutile also received some first team work. Nutile delivered a well thrown ball to Marshall Ellick, who grabbed it and ran in for a 40-yard touchdown reception. Ellick was a popular name last spring and he seems to be having another good start this time around. The issue for Ellick will always be staying healthy.
The first team offense changes often throughout practice, but it looked like redshirt freshman Kenny Yeboah and redshirt junior Chris Myarick were receiving most of the first team work at tight end.
Temple will have Friday off and resume practice Saturday at 9 a.m.
