Temple is getting a visit this weekend from 6-foot-7, 225-pound Australian wing forward Jack White, who has played at the U17 and U19 World Championships for Australia. White told OwlScoop that he's expected to arrive in Philadelphia Thursday night and is also visiting Boise State and Hawaii on this trip.
White graduated high school almost three weeks ago, would enroll at his school of choice in May or June and be part of the 2016 recruiting class.
White is generally regarded as one of the top young players in Australia, and here's a look at some highlights.
White went to Lake Ginninderra College, his Australian high school, where his team recently won the National Schools Championship. He averaged around 25 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists in that tournament. He also plays for the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence in the SEABL, where White said he averaged around 12 points, 8 boards and 2 assists.
White has also represented Victoria, his home state, since under 16's at the National Championships as well, winning gold this year in the under-20 competition, and he's hoping to do the same again in February. He has also been a scholarship holder at the Australian Institute of Sport for the last 18 months.
