Today's Inquirer shed light on Villanova's BB program. The title of the article was, "In new world, Villanova is in essence a pro team." Their players are receiving at least roughly $75k on top of their scholarships. They have a freakin' general manager to focus on getting financing, and they have wealthy alums willing to fork over the bucks to support the program.
I haven't heard that Temple has any kind of infrastructure for reaping the rewards of NIL, nor does it seem that there enough interested wealthy alums to care enough to support the program.
Temple needs to clean house and have a BOT who are avid supporters of our sports teams and are willing to do whatever it take to make it so. We need to stop thinking we are a small time program and start acting like the giant institution that it is. It's time to act first and ask permission later.
