Have been a Temple basketball fan and supporter since the 1960's. Former season ticket holder for many years. Have traveled to away and NCAA tournament games.
Have felt that Coach Dumphy is a good coach and a very good man. Unfortunately the program appears to be stagnating.
This team was missing two key players due to injuries that could've made a significant difference . What is most concerning however, is that the team seemed to unravel at the end of the season losing several games down the stretch. They started the season playing better than the finished. It appeared they played without emotion and often looked confused on the court. The team never improved. This team has no go-to player that can be counted on in the stretch. It is very disconcerting to see role players taking 30 foot jump shots when a game is on the line.
I am aware that a good recruiting class is coming in next year and hopefully the program will improve. I'm just not sure at this point that a coaching change wouldn't be appropriate to move the program forward.
