...as there's (almost) literally nothing in it about the Owls, no half / full page write-up, not a single photograph, and only one preseason accolades (Josh Brown on Third Team All-AAC).
On predicted order of finish in conference (summary):
7. Temple: This spot depends upon Josh Brown's availability after undergoing Achilles surgery in May. If he's healthy, the Owls could move up.
On recruiting classes:
4. Temple: Quinton Rose is a towering four-star point guard at 6'5" and could be irreplaceable for the Owls if he adds a little bulk to his frame.
On predicted order of finish in conference (extended):
We say this every year, but Fran Dunphy-coached Temple is difficult to figure out heading into the season. Dunphy always seems to find a way to get the most out of the Owls - the 9-22 record in 2014-14 notwithstanding - and they are coming off an AAC regular-season title and NCAA Tournament appearance. However, three starters are gone from that team - and the status of starting point guard Josh Brown (8.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.9 apg) is up in the air. He injured his Achilles and underwent surgery in May. If Brown is 100 percent for the opening game - which isn't likely - this might be too low of a ranking. He and double-figure scorer Obi Enechionyia (11.0 ppg, 3.8 rpg) will form one of the better duos in the league. Role players have stepped up the past couple of years for Temple, and one name to watch is freshman guard Alani Moore. He can make shots from the perimeter or create for others off the dribble; his role will be even bigger if Brown is out.
