After watching this game three times, it occurred to me that Nitro, with his reported 4.6 speed, 5-11 230, he could possibly be used like a shorter Merril Hoge, a "Factor Back".
Kid is tough to bring down, will run between the tackles, has decent hands (not Kevin Turner, but he can be a safety valve), and isn't a bad lead blocker.
Maybe it's my love of old time, smash mouth, three yards and a cloud of dust football. But these are very unusual circumstances, with only two scholarship RBs. David Hood is a nice HB, but he's 5'9" 190, he's not a Bell Cow.
I'd like to see if Dave Patenaude can use what he has and redeem himself.
