Just spoke with a couple of sources familiar with Temple recruiting.

Seems like there's a good chance that junior college offensive lineman Bo Alexander may be Temple's only official visitor this weekend. That's because the coaching staff, players and the majority of the support staff will be leaving for the Gasparilla Bowl on Saturday. Alexander showed up to campus today and will leave on Saturday. Alexander visited Houston last weekend and appears to be down to the Owls, Cougars and possibly the Cincinnati Bearcats. Alexander is an Appalachian State bounceback.

Daymon Murray, a JUCO defensive back and Keenan Forbes, a JUCO offensive lineman visited last weekend and Temple is in a good position with both of them. Murray and Forbes were both offered by Temple during their visits and the Owls are "full steam ahead" on the duo. Murray had five interceptions and nine pass breakups this season for Snow College, which went 10-1 and finished as the No. 4 JUCO team in the nation. Forbes, meanwhile, originally signed with Iowa State in 2016, redshirted during the 2016 season and played for Coffeyville Community College last season.

Three-star Defensive tackle Khris Banks visited Temple last weekend as well and, according to the source, Temple "feels good" about its chances of landing the former Boston College commit. Banks is visiting Rutgers and appears to be down to Temple, Rutgers and UVA. The Cavaliers rekindled their interest in Banks over the last week or so but may not be able to get him on campus before he makes his decision.

As you may have heard, 3-star WR commit Sean Ryan has had increased interest from Pittsburgh as of late. Ryan was originally supposed to visit Pittsburgh this upcoming weekend but two sources I spoke with over the past few days have said that he will not be making that trip. Ryan was visited by Stan Hixon and Ed Foley today and appears likely to sign with Temple on December 20 but one of the sources I spoke with today cautioned that anything couple happen over the next six days.

According to sources, Temple will sign anywhere from 20 to 25 kids next Wednesday but will also keep a handful of spots open for possible January/February targets. One of those targets could be JUCO running back Jo-El Shaw, who signed with Syracuse in 2016 and has spent the last two seasons at Lackawanna College. Shaw has not been offered yet, according to a source, but the Owls are keeping an eye on him. Syracuse has reoffered Shaw, who also has offers from schools like Coastal Carolina and UMass. Temple's decision whether or not to offer Shaw could be influenced by a number of things, including the rehabilitations of Jager Gardner and Tyliek Raynor.

As for Temple's current running back commits, the Owls view Kyle Dobbins, who played a lot of safety this year for Timber Creek, as a running back. One of the sources I spoke with was very high on Onasis Neely and described him as "incredibly long and fast" with a collegiate physique.

So stay tuned to OwlScoop.com for any future updates. The next couple of days could be relatively quiet, but next week should be an interesting one.
