Although the Owls have had a fairly hap hazard start to the season the following players/units have been positive and deserve recognition.
1. Field goal kicking: Boom has demonstrated he has a big leg, and he can execute in the clutch. Jones is also above average except for that missed PAT.
2. Q Roche & D-line: These guys and this unit is getting better and better. Roche has shown his outstanding ability to penetrate and make plays. But I also want to mention the play of Taylor, Booth-Lloyd, Dogbe, Finch, and especially new comers Levine and Archbong. Plus I saw real effort by both Dioubate and Greg Webb when they were in against UMASS. This unit is TEMPLE TOUGH!!!
3. Ventell Bryant, Keith Kirkwood, and the other WR's are making big time catches. These guys have tremendous skills and opposing DB's have their work cut out for them covering their routes.
4. Marchi: he has shown he can lead the offense, but without an effective running game he is becoming one dimensional. BUT-he has been hitting his receivers and putting the ball where they can catch it. No interceptions or fumbles is a big plus. I just wish he knew when to toss the ball out of bounds to avoid big losses.
With these guys getting better each week maybe the lesser folks/units can start getting their game in gear. I do not believe it is for a lack of talent that we underperforming. The OC & DC are getting below the line grades for their coaching decisions so far.
