Carey probably looking at at 5 years, around $8M with a buyout here of whatever is left on his contract. A lot less than what we'd pay these other candidates, but Carey is someone with enough of a track record to show that it's unlikely he sinks our program (although he's probably unlikely to really elevate us). Buyout money from Rhule (EO, etc.), Collins+Diaz+a few million if Carey leaves. Fran is elevated to HC for probably less or similar money to what Carey will make. Post-Fran, we're potentially looking at major P5 money to spend on a HC combined with what we can afford to pay now.
So bottom line: Steady the ship with Carey, Fran gets experience, if Fran doesn't work out, we have a ton of money for a HC search in a few years.
