Temple alum Eric Semborski was signed by the Flyers as emergency goalie after Flyers goalie Michal Neuvirth collapsed and was taken to the hospital. Flyers coach Dave Hakstol tried to put Semborski in with ~25 seconds left in the game, and he went to the net, but the refs didn't allow him to play because it wasn't an emergency situation. Had first emergency goalie Anthony Stolarz been injured, Semborski could've played. Semborski served as an emergency goalie for the Blackhawks against the Flyers in December.

We were that close to having our first player in the NHL :(
