Here's my story on Rod Carey from Friday's press conference.
Also had a chance to talk to Athletic Director Pat Kraft after everything was over. He said Carey came highly recommended by the following coaches:

Carey's Northern Illinois team beat Fitzgerald's Wildcats 23-15 in Evanston in 2014.
-- Mississippi State's Joe Moorhead
-- Virginia Tech's Justin Fuente
-- NC State's Dave Doeren
Carey took over at NIU for Doeren when he left for N.C. State
-- Texas Tech coach Matt Wells
Wells took over at the end of this season after having the same job at Utah State.
