If Coach Collins leaves after this season, is there a short list of guys we could hire to replace him?
Would Francis Brown, who is at Baylor with Matt Rhule, be a legitimate head coaching candidate at this point in his young career? I think Brown holds the assistant head coach title at Baylor, and he’s responsible for either the CBs or safeties, or maybe the entire defensive backfield. I know Phil Snow was a safeties guy when he was D Coordinator at Temple, so I wasn’t sure. I’m not even sure Brown would want to be the head guy at Temple. He may have much higher (BIG12, SEC, BIG 10, ACC) aspirations than Temple.
While Fran Brown has no head coaching experience, he’s a top-notch recruiter. And being from Camden, he has a lot of ties to South Jersey players, coaches, ADs, etc.
Maybe Dave Clawson would be a candidate, too, if he was willing to leave Wake Forest to come back to the Philadelphia area.
Not sure of other possible candidates in the event Collins walks.
