First, I remember what Wayne Hardin said after a loss to Penn State and/or Pitt back in the 70s. He said that while we played them close on offense and defense, special teams made the difference in that those on THEIR special teams would be starting for us. That’s what it looked like today.

Second, You could see Wake had much better team speed and athletes. Not only on offense, but also along the line and linebackers. Walker could not even outrun them for most of the game. Our O line could not keep them out of our backfield or open op holes today. (See number four)

Third, we are not ready for the ACC. This was a mediocre ACC team and they won. Yes we did not get obvious pass interference penalties called. That cost us two touchdowns and the win, IMHO. For God’s sakes, it took an outright tackle to get one called (a great play by their corner because it was a sure touchdown.

Fourth, two-star and NR can only get coached up so much. We need to recruit better: that means more three stars and maybe a few fours while we are at it.

Fifth and finally, I will miss Phil Snow. His half-time adjustments were spectacular and our D basically blanked them in the second half.

All-in all a great year, I’m proud to be a Temple Owl, all be it an old one.
