exhibited all the structural problems with this team that they just can't overcome:
1) Lack of a post presence on defense -- this was exhibited by our inability to guard Shaq Goodwin down the stretch and Obi, once again, being completely ineffective as a post defender (and rebounder)
2) Inability to get to the free-throw line -- this was exhibited by our lack of a post player on offense and lack of any ability of any of our players to drive to the basket and draw fouls (Memphis shot 30 free-throws and Temple only 9!).
3) No legitimate pg -- this was once again exhibited by Josh Brown turning the ball over in a pivotal moment in a close game in an attempt to make a play (I believe he did the same thing against SJU)
4) Once again, Decosey's inability to step up as a senior leader during key moments of a close game -- this was exhibited with his turnover late in the game and his inability to score when needed the most (can you imagine how Khalif Wyatt, Ramone Moore, or Dionte Christmas would have played during the key stretch during such a game. It's a reason Dunphy made Bond the only senior captain. Decosey will never be what he's capable of being. We should just accept it)
5. Just overall undisciplined and boneheaded play down the stretch of games -- this was exhibited by Coleman's awful fade-away shot in the last minute, Dingle's awful 3 point shot, and the most idiotic foul I've ever seen committed in Temple basketball history, also compliments of Dingle.
At the end of the day, this team just can't get out of its own way because the personnel won't allow it to. The poor recruiting has brought us to where we are now.
