I tried asking about the status of Matt Hennessy yesterday after the game, but Geoff Collins declined to talk about it.
When I asked if the team might get Hennessy back for UConn or a bowl game, Collins said, "Is that an injury question?" I said that it was. He kept talking and said, "That’s an injury question. I’m not answering injury questions."
Geoff said earlier this month that he felt UCF's players were kind of targeting Temple players based on their injuries (and I would agree with that), so he said he was going to dial back on talking about injuries. We'll continue to ask because it's of course relevant, and I think the line struggled without him yesterday. Although I think he has a bright future, Adam Klein struggled at right tackle yesterday and I think the general chemistry of the line, not surprisingly, has been off with Hennessy out.
I'd imagine there would be no reason to try to bring Hennessy back (if that's even a possibility) against a bad UConn team. We'll see about the bowl game and continue to ask.
