I saw the headline this morning that their coach left for Belmont. And so I was on the Lipscomb wiki page. Great run this year for their hoops team. They're located in Nashville, like Belmont. Belmont hired him from across town. So now he's like Belmont's Fran Dunphy.
And I became very concerned that Lipscomb's team nickname is "Bisons?" You can't be bisons. You can only be bison. You can have 1 or you can have a 1,000,000... still bison. smh...
But according to other published material on the internet (which is always true), the commonly accepted phrase for the plural version of "bison" until the 1920's was in fact "bisons." The AAA baseball team in Buffalo also goes by the name "Bisons" as does Harding University.
One day you're going to be out for nachos and the quizzo trivia guy is going to show up and you're going to grab a game slip and play and this material might just come up. Just thought I'd share!
