2-star RB Kelvin Dean committed to Temple today over offers offers from schools like Cincinnati, East Carolina, Tulane and Marshall.
You may remember that Dean was originally rumored to be one of Temple's July 4th commitments but ultimately pushed back his commitment. Temple ended up taking Jamal Speaks' verbal instead. Multiple sources we spoke with told us that Dean wasn't fully ready to shut down his commitment and that led to the Owls' increased interest in Speaks. Looks like two months of thinking has convinced Dean of his decision.
Dean rushed for 1,836 yards and 26 touchdowns last season for Single-A Chipley HS in Florida last year but transferred up to AAAAA Rickards during the offseason.
A source I spoke with tonight said that Temple is willing to take Dean, Speaks, Neely and Re'Mahn Davis in this year's class. Dean has decent position flexibility and could end up as a slot receiver in college, which makes the decision to take four RBs easier.
