This isn't necessarily Dunphy's fault, but rather shows the incompetence and lack of thinking from all levels as it relates to the hoops program.
I had seen that they are honoring the 93 and 88 Elite Eight teams against UConn and Wichita respectively, but provided the players with almost no notice whatsoever, they have yet to tweet or post on instagram about it. Just utter stupidity, and this program and the greats who have come through here deserve better. If you're not posting on social media in 2018, how are you reaching people? How are they supposed to know?
Another example: Temple was the only school to not acknowledge Mike Jensen's Philly hoops series, and Mike did an awesome job with the Lynn Greer/Lynard Stewart piece, Dionte Christmas piece, and the Chaney/Staley Wanamaker Award piece. Every other school loves to mention and show off their history, and program legends, etc. St. Joe's will talk about Jameer every chance they get, Nova even tweeted about Maalik Wayns having a nice assist in the PRESEASON. These types of posts get so many likes and retweets because people love their program's legends.
Its not even about likes, but building/rebuilding your brand, marketing, drumming up interest. Incompetence permeates the program in all levels and it's extremely frustrating to see things absolutely within the program's control not be done properly. Temple has a great marketing program in Fox, and a great communications school, theres no reason this can't be done properly. A full scale change is needed, even with the social media team
